Upright-stemmed, Spreading form and often multi-stemmed.
Photos from Read of Coblands Nurseries Ltd.

" Delicate, star-shaped, white flowers in March to April and bronze leaves maturing to dark green and then orange and red in autumn. Noted for its beautiful autumn leaf colour, this upright-stemmed shrub or tree is an ideal specimen plant for a shrub or mixed border in full sun or part-shade.

Garden care: To train as a standard tree select the strongest, straightest stem, removing all of the laterals up to 0.6-1.5m (3-5ft) from the ground in winter. Alternatively, to train as a multi-stemmed tree remove stems that are growing too close together back to ground level." from Crocus.

"The small black autumn berries are edible and can be used to make preserves and an alternative to sloe gin.

Amelanchier lamarckii will thrive in almost all soils, but does best in well drained lime free substrates." from Deepdale.

"June Berry is a stunning flowering native species with great autumn colour - every garden should have a June Berry! It is suitable to be kept at the same height as other species in a mixed hedge or can be allowed to grow as a hedgerow tree. If you're choosing species for a mixed native hedge, don't miss this one.

We have this species as a bare root plant, available from November to early April (sometimes late March). " from Best4Hedging.

Available from Best4Hedging , Crocus and Deepdale in the UK with Connon Nurseries in Canada.

Plant Lust in America has other cultivars of Amelanchier.
